2018 DARGO HIGH COUNTRY EXPERIENCE

This week end is designed as a fellowship weekend and to introduce our international students to our magnificent Victorian high country.

Our base camp will be the D. Guy  farm stay (formally the Wonnangatta Caravan park Waterford).

Thursday will be travelling to Dargo, settling in, and using the facilities of the caravan park, We will also venture into Dargo and have dinner at the Dargo pub, an experience in itself.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, will be touring days, we will be returning home on the Monday.

We will be travelling to iconic landmarks of this region where the drives and the views from the peaks are nothing short of astounding.

Some of the destinations planned are  The spectacular Billy Goats Bluff Track  and the Pinnicles. On another trips planned we will be venturing to the historic towns of Grant & Talbotville and traversing through the streams and exciting Crooked River Track , and finally the spectacular Blue Rag range Track will be explored on another one of our adventures.

Our campsite which is set on banks of the Wonnangatta River is spectacular in itself where you can go walking, swimming or just lounge around being part of the Rotary and other club groups who will be there that Weekend.

Costs: Students to bring $200. This will cover accommodation, meals (Excluding Thursday lunch in Sale, on route to Dargo and Monday lunch on the return home).

Meals on the days in Dargo will include a hearty breakfast, Self made lunches and a cooked dinner in the evening. If you have any special dietary needs please contact Frances Wright with that information.

Here is a check list that each student is to look over and  bring on the weekend.

Change of clothes to cover the 5 days away.

Swimmers

Towel for swimming, and one for showers Etc.

All toiletries

Covered footwear Runners or hiking shoes with thick socks.

Thongs and  sandals are okay in camp.

Hat, Sunglasses and sunscreen.

It can also get cold so a light jumper, and Raincoat or waterproof jacket is required.

A sleeping bag and pillow. (Mattresses  will be supplied)

A fold up chair will be supplied.

Any Medications required.

Please bring your own personal drink bottle to top up throughout the days trips.

Francis will supply a lunch box for each of you to keep your lunches in.

A torch or head lamp is also required. (pretty dark where we are going, just the stars)!

And offcourse don't forget your camera and your country's flag, there are going to be some outstanding and breathtaking photo opportunities on this trip.
